The BRK SC9120B hardwire combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm is a versatile unit that can detect two hazards simultaneously. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a dangerous gas that is both colorless and odorless. It can be produced by various sources such as gas or oil furnaces, gas clothes dryers, water heaters, fireplaces, wood stoves, charcoal grills, gas ranges, and space heaters. Factors like a blocked chimney, improper venting, and attached garages can lead to carbon monoxide buildup.
This hardwired combination smoke and CO alarm from BRK SC9120 comes with a battery backup and several useful features. It is designed for easy installation with a quick plug-in power connector and is interconnectable with up to 18 compatible devices, including smoke alarms and other devices like bells, horns, repeaters, and door closers. In case one unit triggers an alarm, all interconnected smoke alarms will sound simultaneously.
The alarm unit features a single test/silence button that can silence non-threatening alarms or low battery warnings and allows you to test the unit's functionality. It also conducts internal tests automatically, has a latching alarm indicator to identify the initiating unit, and includes features like a battery drawer lock, mounting bracket lock for tamper resistance, AC power indicator, alarm indicator light, low battery warning "chirp," and a missing battery tab. Additionally, it has a 9-volt battery backup for uninterrupted monitoring during power outages.
All BRK Electronics carbon monoxide alarms are certified to UL Safety Standard 2034 for residential carbon monoxide alarms and come with a 10-year limited warranty. The package includes one combination smoke and CO alarm, one 9-volt battery, and a user’s manual.
This hardwired combination CO smoke alarm utilizes battery backup for continuous monitoring, ensuring your family's safety even during power failures. It features electrochemical carbon monoxide sensing technology and an ionization sensor for smoke detection. The unit has indicator lights on its face to display the presence of smoke or carbon monoxide, and an 85-decibel siren provides a loud warning upon detection.
You can connect this alarm to other compatible BRK or First Alert detectors to ensure all alarms sound when a threat is detected. It is user-friendly with a single test/silence button and a side-load battery compartment. The tamper-resistant locking brackets and universal mounting brackets make installation a breeze. Rigorously tested to meet UL standards, this alarm offers fast turnarounds on job sites and is considered the most trusted alarm in home safety.
First Alert has been a trusted brand in home safety since introducing the first residential smoke alarm in 1958, as per a First Alert Brand Trust Survey conducted in February 2018.
