The Kidde Smart Smoke Detector, model P4010ACS-WF, is a WiFi-enabled device compatible with Alexa. It utilizes photoelectric sensor technology to detect visible fire particles from smoldering fires. When a fire is detected, it emits an 85-decibel alarm with a voice alert saying "Fire! Fire!". This smart smoke alarm is hardwired to your home's wiring with standard 120V AC power and has a battery backup in case of power failure. The lithium battery backup lasts the entire 10-year lifespan of the alarm, eliminating the need for battery replacements.

Real-time notifications are sent through the Kidde app, allowing your family, friends, and even pet sitter to monitor air quality in your home. The app provides alerts for smoke presence, high humidity levels that can lead to mold, unexpected temperature changes, and Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs). Setting up the alarm is simple: download the Kidde app and scan the QR code on the back of the device.

You can also use voice commands to check the status of carbon monoxide or air quality by connecting the alarm to Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or select iPhone and Android devices. The LED ring-light indicator shows the operational status: red for smoke or fire hazard, amber for operating errors, and green for normal operation. The Test-Hush button silences temporary alarms, tests the unit's operation, and silences low battery alerts for up to 24 hours at a time, for a maximum of 7 days.
